Building the Evidence Base

In parallel to taking forward the Strategic Delivery Gaps, a second focus of the Northern Way Transport Compact's work was the further development of the overall Evidence Base on:

• the interactions between transport and the economy and in particular, the characteristics of transport demand in the North
• the development of a low-carbon transport future
• given the constraints on public sector investment, how the much needed enhancements to the North's transport can funded
